CARBON / WATER

QSI Certification is the first verification organization authorized by TÜRKAK within the scope of the Regulation on Monitoring, Reporting and Verification of Greenhouse Gases of the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization of Turkey and ISO 14064-1 Corporate Carbon Footprint Verification.

Our Verification Scope;

Turkish Ministry of Environment and Urbanization Greenhouse Gas Monitoring, Reporting verification (EU ETS)

  • ISO 14064-1 Corporate Carbon Footprint Verification,
  • GHG Protocol Carbon Footprint Verification,
  • ISO 14046 Water Footprint Verification,
  • ISO 14067 and PAS 2050 Product Carbon Footprint Verification,
  • ISO 14044 LCA Verification,
  • ACA Airport Carbon Accreditation Verification
  • CORSIA Flight-Related Emissions Verification
  • ISO 14064-2 Verification and Validation of Carbon Reduction Projects

Selection of Verifier Organization;

In selecting the verifier organization, it should first be checked whether the organization is accredited within the scope of ISO 17029, ISO 14065 and ISO 14064-3 standards. In the second step, the conformity of the organization's accreditation programs (EU ETS, SKDM, 14064-1, 14064-2) and scopes (iron steel, cement, textile, food.....) should be checked.

In Turkey, accreditation of verification organizations is given by TÜRKAK according to ISO 17029, ISO 14065 and ISO 14064-3 standards.

It is possible to access the list of verification organizations via the TÜRKAK website.

Many carbon footprint and water footprint declarations verified by QSI are accepted by international institutions.

Verification Purpose

before starting carbon and water footprint calculation studies, which are a part of sustainability studies. Because, calculation standards and methods are determined in line with this purpose and the entire process continues in line with this determined program.

For example, SKDM, a greenhouse gas calculation made within the scope of EU ETS and a greenhouse gas calculation made within the scope of ISO 14064-1 are completely different from each other. While the ISO 14064-1 standard requires reporting of all 7 basic greenhouse gases (CO2, CH4, N2O, CFC, PFC, SF6, NF3) included in the Kyoto Protocol, SKDM and EU ETS are only interested in CO2 emissions, except for some sectors.
