Directive 305/2011/EU on Construction Materials was adopted in 2011 and entered into force in 2013. As of this date, it has become mandatory for all building materials offered for sale in the European Economic Area to be produced in accordance with the relevant harmonized European standard and to have the CE mark on them.
In our country, the said directive is carried out within the framework of the Construction Materials Regulation (305/2011/EU) published by the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization. This regulation mainly pursues the following purposes:
The declaration of performance or the European Union declaration of conformity is a prerequisite for affixing the CE marking on the product. For this, the manufacturer must rely on an authorized laboratory report or a Notified Body report.
In this direction, for products covered by the relevant directive, manufacturers have to mark their products with the CE mark since 2013.
