QSI Certification, the first verification body authorized by the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization and TÜRKAK, within the scope of the Regulation on Monitoring, Reporting and Verification of Greenhouse Gases prepared by the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization, also provides ISO 14064-1 Carbon Footprint Verification, ISO 14046 Water Footprint Verification, Water and Carbon Footprint Verification within the Scope of CDP Project, Product Carbon Footprint Verification within the scope of ISO 14067 and PAS 2050, apart from the relevant regulation.
SELECTION OF VERIFICATION BODY
In our country, the accreditation of verifiers is given by TURKAK according to the ISO 14065 standard.
It is possible to see the list of verifiers on the TÜRKAK website. However, all existing organizations have accreditation within the scope of the Regulation on Monitoring, Reporting and Verification of Greenhouse Gases prepared by the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization.
There is no verification body that has TÜRKAK accreditation in standards such as ISO 14064-1, ISO 14046, CDP, ISO 14067, PAS 2050. However, we are currently serving as QSI for organizations that want to receive verification services in the aforementioned standards.
Many carbon footprint and water footprint statements verified by QSI are accepted by international institutions.
PURPOSE OF VERIFICATION
Organizations should determine the project objectives before starting the carbon and water footprint calculation studies, which are part of their sustainability studies. Because for this purpose, calculation standards and methods are determined and the whole process continues in line with this determined program.
For example, a greenhouse gas calculation made within the framework of the program that has emerged as a legal obligation by the Ministry of Environment and a greenhouse gas made within the scope of ISO 14064-1 are completely different from each other. While the ISO 14064-1 standard requires reporting all of the 6 basic greenhouse gases (CO2, CH4, N2O, CFC, PFC, SF6) in the Kyoto Protocol, some programs only deal with CO2 emissions.
